The cost of counselling GCS is a registered charity and a non-profit making organisation; we receive no financial support from Government or NHS Trusts. We aim to provide our service to those in need irrespective of income. Each person who comes to GCS for counselling is expected to contribute towards the cost of the service according to their ability to pay. The cost to provide the initial assessment session is £45. Making an appointment GCS operates an appointments only system and appointments are made by telephoning GCS. Calls are answered between 9am and 4pm. At other times messages can be left on an answer-phone and will be dealt with as soon as possible. Alternatively you can e-mail your details including your telephone number and we will contact you as soon as possible. It is possible to apply and register via our downloadable registration form which you can find in the downloads section of the site, alternatively click here. If you use this method it will be necessary for you to send payment through the post to us. Please note we cannot process your assessment until payment has been received. The initial session The initial meeting provides the opportunity to talk about the problems and reason for coming for counselling. The session lasts 50 minutes. If there is mutual agreement between GCS and the client to proceed with counselling this will be processed and a counsellor will make contact as soon as possible. Waiting times Our services are in regular demand and we make every effort to accommodate those seeking counselling as quickly as possible. We work hard to not have a waiting list; appointments for the initial assessment interview are usually available within a week of registration, with ongoing counselling arranged promptly after this. |
